At St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, we believe that our call to personal transformation and growth precedes, accompanies, and fuels our call to make a meaningful, love-spreading difference in the world. More specifically, we believe in the Holy Spirit’s work of renewing our hearts and forming us deeper into the likeness of our Lord Jesus Christ. As Christ is formed in us, we become people characterized by “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Gal 6: 22-23). This is our destiny as God’s image bearers and what enables us to offer grace and connection to the world. Our vocation as the people of God is to come to the “unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ” (Eph 4:13).
